Photos from Jordan, November 2002

In November 2002 we went to Jordan, spending most of our time in Wadi Rum and Petra. The primary attraction of Wadi Rum is the majestic desert scenery, and the opportunity to spend several days walking and scrambling through a landscape not visibly affected by man. Petra is the extraordinary ancient city, once centre of a fabulously rich trading empire the Romans were jealous of. Petra's iconic image is the breathtaking classical facade of the 'Treasury' used in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', but there's so much more to see.
