Overview
Recently, it has been found that particular G-rich DNA (and RNA) sequences are capable of forming stable four-stranded structures known as G-quadruplexes. Introductory material on G-quadruplexes can be found on Wikipedia and Quadruplex.org (Links).
Here, we present a computational prediction method for the stability of G-quadruplexes using Gaussian processes. The method uses training-sequences from measured quadruplexes (data download) to predict the stability of unseen quadruplex sequences.
