To Do - Explanation & recipe

On and off for a few years I've used my Visor PDA to keep track of my "To do" list.

In November 2003 I decided it was time to purge all the "done" items which it had been diligently and invisibly saving. But it is not in my nature to throw out left-overs. Before long I had this residue of daily life chopped into pieces, and was lifting the lid on a bubbling hotpot of old tasks. A quick stir, and soon it was ready for anyone wanting a taste of someone else's ordinary. Dinner is served.

Recipe

In case anyone wonders the exact recipe, and to show that I used only wholesome natural ingredients and no artificial additives, here is the recipe I followed:

  1. Retrieve todo list. Completed items up to about three years old are edible and tasty. I included my fresh, still-to-do items too to give extra flavour.
  2. Chop into words. I used Perl, pretty much the only utensil I find I need for whipping up quick snacks in my kitchen.
  3. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Any punctuation, numbers or other titbits you find in the mixture will add extra flavour and can be left in. (My mother used to say these are the best bits).
  4. Serve justified.
