Trains to Oxford === Saturday Trains from Cambridge to Oxford === Trains from Cambridge to London Kings Cross and from London Paddington to Oxford are so frequent that you might as well just turn up at the station at random. Journey time is roughly two and a half hours. There is a good direct coach service to Oxford from Cambridge bus station too. Here are example trains (valid on Saturday June 1 1996; a new timetable applies from June 8, but it is likely to be much the same). The coach service might be better. The coach service might be better for Sunday daytrippers. ===== Coming back on Sunday by train ====== In the afternoon / evening, there's about one train every 30 minutes from Oxford to London, and from KX to Cambridge. The journey takes about 3 hours. The fare is 9 pounds for the weekend return, with 25% off if you have some student ID. Alternatively, Cambridge coach service number 75, leaves Drummer Street for Oxford at 3:00, 5:00, and 7:00 PM (this is the LAST coach to Oxford Friday night!), and gets to Oxford 3 hours later. The fare is 10 pounds for the weekend return, or 7 pounds with student ID. there's a bus from the cambridge coach service that leaves at 0500 saturday morning and gets there at 0800. (There's another one that leaves at 0300 and gets there at 0600 if anyone's interested)
